Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep...

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, "A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members... " To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.

Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc' allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online. Donations help make programs like this a reality!

Your Donations Support the Organization in Many Ways - * By supporting the continued education of our volunteer photographers * By allowing us to further our outreach to hospitals and hospices across the world * By offsetting the costs associated with outreach efforts including Formal NILMDTS Traingin Seminars * By supporting the Family Forum which creates a productive and supportive haven for healing * By supporting the Photographers' Forum which provides a helpful environment for our member photographers to express their feelings and receive advice on the various issues that they face in this noble work * By supporting the day to day operations of our Headquarters Offices.

Annie....

I was very sad today to hear that one of my friends, Annie Kim, was killed this weekend in an automobile accident. She was a very beautiful, lively person and will be missed by so many people.
When Annie walked into the studio, you knew exactly who she was and why she came. She was very much in control. And she was absolutely gorgeous -- both inside and out! Always asking questions, always full of energy.
I know she is now a beautiful angel watching over us. I will miss her.

New beginnings...

Hi, Everyone! Sorry for the delay in posting, but we have been quite busy here at Image Forward! I am sure you all have now seen our new magazine, ALT! We are so excited about having our own magazine and being able to share with you! Our articles, most of the time a result of our photography sessions, are informative, interesting, and sometimes heart string tuggers!
If you have an interesting story to share with our readers, please contact us! We would love to hear from you! In addition, our events page is something that everyone in town will be looking at to find something exciting to do each week! E-mail us your event information!

We have also been busy with our usual photography assignments -- weddings, bridals, engagements, children, babies, maternity. In fact, we have a special, also, available to those who have a 4-D Ultrasound of their baby at The Women's Specialists! This is such an amazing technology! And what is absolutely amazing is how much your baby's ultrasound photo looks like the first photograph we take of your newborn! If you are expecting and want to check this out, go to http://www.thewomensspecialists.org/. You will be amazed! Ask them about having your baby's ultrasound taken...then call us!

With Christmas just around the corner, we are now offering our Christmas special -- for 8 days only this year! For more information, visit http://www.imageforwardtxk.com/html/specials_.html. We are excited about our White Christmas set and hope to see you! Appointments are going fast -- so call soon!

Vacation and Wedding!

Hi, everyone! We're on vacation this week in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama. Not only have we been having fun on the beach, but we attended the wedding of Michael and Lacretia and took a "few" photos! Here are some that we want to share with you! Thanks so much to Brent Stewart of Stewart and Company for the beautiful floral bouquets, and to Jan Price of Prissy Chrissy Ranch for the "Delicious Cheese"!

Hope everyone is having a great week! See you when we return!

Arkansas Professional Photographers Association...

Hi, Everyone! We just returned from 3 days in Hot Springs at the Arkansas Professional Photographer's Convention! It was so much fun! The people we met there were friendly, fun, and helpful in every possible way! It makes learning so much better when you are with people you truly like, who know what they are doing, and who want to help you learn!

Anyway, we entered the print competition and got some amazing results -- especially considering it was the first time we had entered! Here's what we did:

Prints Deserving a Merit (Award):

A Little Bit Country (Cowboy Hat Photo of Laura Lee Lacy)
Heaven and Earth (Wedding Photo of Kristi and Dale Wooten)

Back to Iraq – (Engagement Photo of April Hurt and Matthew Riley)
Final Bow – (Ballerina Photo of Laura Lee Lacy)
Old World Tradition – (Traditional photo of Annie Kim)
God’s Grace – (Maternity Photo of Tracy Lilly)

At the Awards Dinner, we also received the following:

Debbie -- First Place Wedding Photograph in the General Division (Heaven and Earth); Distinguished Print in the Portrait Division (Old World Tradition)

Jaclyn -- First Place Illustrative Photography in the General Division (Back to Iraq); Best Photo of a High School Senior (Final Bow); Best Photo by a First Time Entrant (Back to Iraq)

We are so excited!

Our Ark-la-tex Photography Guild meets this coming Monday evening at Park Place Restaurant, at 6 p.m., where we have been asked to assist Vaughn Monigold in a program on wedding photography! If you are a photographer interested in weddings, don't miss this meeting! See you soon!

Laura Lee...

Well, one of my favorite people dropped by yesterday for a shoot -- Laura Lee! Absolutely gorgeous! We had so much fun!

Laura Lee is such a great subject!

Here are a few of my favorites and I'll try to post some of the "ballerina" pics that Jaclyn shot later.

Laura Lee -- you are fabulous!

Enjoy...
